I was replicating the description of the Sears Communicator that was typed out on a table tent next to the machine. But the custom letterhead is all mine and I’m proud of it. Letterhead printed on DIY provisional press using new metal type and old vintage typewriter letterpress blocks. Beston wrote The Outermost House by hand, not with a typewriter. But I typed the first paragraph because I brought the paperback with me to the type-in. This letter might be the most charming because I was just so excited to type on this machine. I didn’t take it home, it was given away to a poet who was thrilled to bits to take this machine home with her.
