Ebay Selectric Seller Chuck Furrier is the Best
Pricey, yes but location was key to my decision to buy. No regrets. Plus one surprising fact about Chuck.
The moment I saw Joe Van Cleave’s pool blue Selectric 721 two years in a video on his YouTube channel, I knew I had to have one in that exact same color. I swiftly sold a mint-condition Featherweight sewing machine for $350 in cash on Facebook Marketplace, patched the money from that sale that together with the rest from my checking account to buy a refurbished Selectric 721 from eBay seller Chuck Furrier for $750 (I dickered on the phone with Chuck, by the way, to get it at this price).
Now, I didn’t go public with my decision to buy from Chuck in the Facebook group for Selectric lovers (Golfballtypewritershop). Everyone already said how expensive he was, how you could get a refurbished Selectric for less elsewhere. But the key to my decision to buy from Chuck is how close he’s to Milwaukee. Wisconsin, if I ever needed something fixed on my machine. He’s in Villa Park, Ill., a little more than 1 /12 hour away.
